The simulator helps me understand exposure by allowing me to experiment with the different settings like shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. They also let me mess around with the priority and Manual modes.

1. Aperture is the opening in a camera lens, shutter speed is the length of time the camera shutter is open, and ISO is the exposure of light.
2. You would need to change your ISO when taking a photo that’s low in light or too dark to adjust brightness.
3. Aperture priority lets you set the aperture and the camera chooses the shutter speed, while shutter priority lets you set the shutter speed and the camera chooses the aperture.
4. AF modes are autofocus settings that determine how the camera focuses, and you typically change them via a camera menu or a dedicated button/dial.
5. You need to meter light to measure scene brightness and determine the correct camera settings like aperture, shutter speed, and ISO for a properly exposed image.
6. Normal lenses mimic human vision, wide-angle lenses capture a wider field of view, and telephoto lenses magnify distant subjects.
7. White balance adjusts a photo’s color temperature, and you change it to correct color casts and ensure accurate color representation under different lighting conditions.
8. Depth of field is the range of acceptable focus in an image, with shallow depth of field having a narrow focus range and good depth of field having a wider focus range.
9. Drive modes control how the camera captures a sequence of images, while metering modes determine how the camera measures light for exposure.
10. Exposure compensation allows you to override the camera’s automatic exposure settings to make the image brighter or darker.
